The version 1.1.1 of the MAN301 software has just been released. It is a big step forward in terms of features and enhancements, including:
- support of the Gracenote database, the professionally maintained metadata and cover art database
- DSD64 and DSD128 file playback and metadata editing
- substantial speed enhancement for library views and searches
- possibility to find and correct all those tracks which do not have the metadata set properly, e.g. lacking artist name, album name, track names
- automatic artwork fetching in selectable artwork sources
- various fixes and enhancements
The 1.1.1 is the most powerful and comprehensive MAN301 release yet!
We strongly recommend to update your MAN301 unit(s) with this new release (Preferences menu). The Weiss MAN app on the iPad has to be updated as well (only if you update from version 1.0.9 or earlier). And also download the latest MAN301 manual from our website (Version 1.1.1).
- When update is available, the top right corner Preference button shows an orange “bling bling”
- Click on Preference button, you will be asked to enter the admin password = “wh10admin”
3) Once update is started, first procedure is to “Downloading OS update image….”
4) Then “Unpacking OS update…”
5) Finally “Rebooting OS…” A windows will pop up “Connection closed – Server closed connection” This is normal because the MAN301 hardware unit is rebooted.
6) Click on Preference and double check the software version is V1.1.1
7) You will find many DSDIFF or DSF files have no metadata. It appears to MAN301 <No Artist> <No Album> tab. MAN301 works as DSD files metadata / album artwork editor. After you enter the metadata, you can also use MAN301 Gracenote CDDB database for fantastic album artwork.
8) DSD files have exactly the same workflow under MAN301
9) Opus3 Analogue transfer DSD128 sounds very nice
10) Opus3 DSD Showcase 2 from (www.dsdfile.com) is a must buy album too.
11) After using MAN301, my own Audiophile Jazz Prologue free DSD samples carry metadata and artwork. Bravo!
